Dr. Anderson received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 1992 from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. The following year, he completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. This training provided advanced skills in complex dental cases, medical rotations, and sedation care up to and including general anesthesia.
Dr. Anderson is a firm believer in continuing dental education. He has participated in over 1,000 hours of C.E., including receiving Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 1998 (the minimum time required). Since then, he has had extensive training in temporomandibular disorders: TMJ or TMD, implant placement and restoration, cosmetic disciplines, and dentistry’s role in Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
Advocating for his patients and dentists has been a continued commitment for Dr. Anderson. He has served as Chairman of the American Dental Association’s Committee on the New Dentist, President of the Sixth District Dental Society, and as the President of the Alabama Dental Association (the youngest dentist to hold the position). In 2003, he was awarded the Alabama School of Dentistry’s Young Alumnus Award. Dr. Anderson has also been elected into the following honorary dental organizations: the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, and as a Most Excellent Fellow of the Alabama Dental Association.
