Just the fact that you clicked on a page titled “ROOT CANAL” either means that you have a problem or you have been told you might need the procedure. Most people don’t even want to think about a root canal. Root canals have such bad reputations, that the words have become synonymous with something terrible.
We are here to change all that! Our root canals are gentle, comfortable and best of all, they will relieve your toothache and can usually save your tooth!
Have you ever wondered where the name “root canal” came from? It may sound odd, but it is actually the part of the tooth being treated.
Inside your tooth is a network of blood vessels, connective tissue and nerves, all contained inside your tooth in the pulp. This pulp is under the hard surface of your tooth and extends all the way into your tooth’s roots – in other words, the root canal. When there is infection in this canal, it causes pain and abscess. In severe cases, this abscess can extend all the way to the tips of the roots and cause problems and infection in the bone.
To relieve your pain, we clear and remove the infection in the root canal and seal your tooth with a porcelain dental crown.
Most of our patients tell us that their relief is immediate and that there are very few side effects. Best of all, root canals let our patient keep their own teeth instead of having them pulled.
