Receiving LLSR

Awarded Solely to Qualifying Masters of the Academy of General Dentistry

We all know you love Dr. Paul Diaz as much as we do as your beloved dentist in Tuscaloosa!  Will you please take a moment to congratulate him on his latest, prestigious honor courtesy of the esteemed Academy of General Dentistry (AGD)? They have awarded him with their Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition (LLSR), a program that was specifically designed to shine the spotlight on AGD members like Dr. Diaz who are forever dedicated to remaining up-to-date with all things dentistry and, more importantly, giving back to their community.

Did You Know…

Here’s an interesting fact about the LLSR — only an elite core of AGD members who have achieved Masters status are eligible to be considered for it. Obtaining mastership status is no easy feat either, but Dr. Diaz completed and exceeded the continuing education and hands-on requirements to become a Master in 2011 — A distinction achieved by less than one percent of general dentists in North America!

“This honor is special to me because it’s about something that speaks true to who we are and what it means to be a part of the Riverview Dental team,” said Diaz. “We care for our community every day in every way we can, more than taking care of teeth. For so long we’ve helped people from all walks of life at every age have outstanding oral and overall health by using the best tools and technology dentistry has to offer. We continue to strengthen our community, one smile at a time.”

Determination and Dedication

The AGD said dentists like Diaz who become Masters and receive this additional recognition have met or exceeded the highest criteria for professional dental perfection. There are three steps a dentist must take to obtain their highly regarded LLSR that include completing over 1,600 hours of continuing education in their craft that spans all aspects of dentistry. Dr. Diaz completed 2,500 hours of continuing education courses, which included over 550 hours of hands-on training and skill building, but more importantly, over 100 hours of service to his beloved Tuscaloosa community.

The AGD said the LLSR “is a testament to the practitioners who exemplify all that AGD embodies through their exceptional commitments to continued learning and giving back to the dental community.”

Been There, Done That

This isn’t the first time your Tuscaloosa dentist has been recognized for his contributions to the advancement of dentistry and to the folks (and their smiles) in his community. In 1999, Dr. Diaz was also accepted as a member of the prestigious cosmetic dental organization – American Society for Dental Aesthetics, and In 2005, he was appointed to the organization’s executive board. In 2016, he was unanimously selected to receive the distinction of fellow of the American Society for Dental Aesthetics, the organization’s highest honor. Three years later, Diaz was invited to join the international honorary dental service organization, The Pierre Fauchard Academy.
